WESL organizati​on demand the government to release political prisoners[ Wednesday, 29 June 2011, 01:40.09 PM GMT +05:30 ]We Are Sri-Lankans (WESL) organization as decided to carry out a protest in front of the Fort Railway Station for demanding the release of political prisoners who were arrested during the war time.

According to the sources, during this protest protesters will demand the government to cancel the emergency law and to release clear and correct information’s about the political prisoners who are presently in the prison.

Family members of the political detainees, representatives of the human rights organizations and the university students   are schedule to participate in this protest.

Around 17 thousand political prisoners are presently detained in the prisons.

We Are Sri-Lankan organization as conduct protest in Trincomalee and Killinochchie areas.
