Protest to release Rizana Nafeek[ Tuesday, 28 June 2011, 04:05.17 PM GMT +05:30 ]A protest organized by the Ranjan Ramanayake Foundation and the Lak Vanitha Front was held in front of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Colombo this morning.

During the protest protesters request the Saudi government to release Rizana Nafeek who face death sentence in Saudi Arabia.

During the protest Central Province UNP MP Shanthini Konghage invited the people to join in this protest.

According to the sources a special committee will be appointed by the Sri-Lankan government carry out discussions regarding the release of Rizana with the Saudi Government.

However Government and the Opposition parties are jointly carrying out work to release the Lankan housemaid.
