Project for changing police uniforms[ Saturday, 02 July 2011, 05:11.12 PM GMT +05:30 ]Reports states plans are underway to change the uniforms to police sector. There are more possibilities of introducing a change in police uniforms in the forthcoming days was mentioned by Senior officers.

Senior officers are discussing what sort of uniforms should be designed for the police personnel. Former Inspector General of police Mahinda Balasooriya had submitted a proposal to change the uniforms of police. 

Meanwhile reports states there is a shortage for caps used by the police officers, hence to produce caps, quotations are called for material from abroad to purchase the material for sewing the caps locally for police states sources.
