New laws for lunch packets
New regulations are to be introduced by the ColomboMunicipal Council on the sale of lunch packets within the city. Accordingly allpackets would have to carry a seal with information such as the manufacturersname, address, date and time the food was prepared, Chief Medical Officer of theColombo Municipal Council Dr. Pradeep Kariyawasam said. Kariyawasam added that the lunch packets must be sold withinfour hours of being cooked under the new regulations. Lunch packets transported from outside Colombo must carry acertification from a Public Health Inspector of the respective area, he added.
